I have been photographing at the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine for a few years now. What a pleasure it has been. A place to be explored, a place to take your time in, a place to open your eyes in. The typical visitor spends about thirty minutes or so. Seems like they just walk down thru the nave, around the ambulatory for a quick look at the chapels, back up the nave with maybe a quick glance at some of the art on display and out they go. They are missing so, so much. Never mind all the art on display (and there is a lot), take in the architecture. The largest cathedral and one of the three largest churches in the world and it is unfinished. So much to see and because it is unfinished (about 2/3rds completed) you can see how it is constructed, wow! Look behind things, look in the corners, especially the dark ones, look up, look down and don't forget to look behind you. It is amazing what you will see. The cathedral does reveal itself, but you have to take the time to look, really look.  So much to see...
