I've never been very good at formal posing of children for photographs. Maybe because I much prefer to catch them as they go about doing what they do, being children. Occasionally I'll say their name to get them to look my way and even that only works some of the time. It's a technique that works for me but it does require a lot more time to come up with acceptable photographs.
